London, UK − October 27, 2006: In line with the MacExpo London (UK), equinux has released MediaCentral 2.4. This release sports a customizable User Interface, an advanced TV Module and improved .Mac Integration. The leading Media Center application for the Mac now features customizable user interface themes. Simplified usability has been delivered via the new Onscreen Display (OSD) menu included in the TV module. It combines a rich set of TV feature controls and configuration options like a concise channel list and additional information about running programs. Not to forget audio settings like Audiotrack (for multi-channel programs) or muting and diverse picture settings. The speed and quality of channel switching has also been improved. By plugging in a supported DVB-T/DTT device, MediaCentral's built in TV Device Configurator automatically recognizes untuned TV devices and simplifies the one-time channel tuning setup.
.Mac Photocast integration and usability within MediaCentral has become better and easier. MediaCentral is now the ultimate application to watch any .Mac Photocast. To round things up, the QuickTimeÖ implementation within MediaCentral has been improved resulting in a smoother appearance whenever movies are played in this format.
