New release promises seamless integration of large networks.

Hannover / Munich / Boston − March 13, 2003: Hannover / Munich / Boston, 13.03.2003: On time for this year’s CeBIT in Hannover, equinux has released a new version of the popular VPN program for Mac OS X. VPN Tracker 1.6 includes significant improvements, enhancing the performance of the program in the business environment. Users in large and middle-sized enterprises are now able to route to a multiple number of their company’s networks via a VPN connection. This feature is particularly interesting for IT consultants, who want to help customers with the remote administration of their VPN.

In the new version the support of VPN aplliances from SonicWALL, NetScreen and WatchGuard has been further optimized. equinux provides free Step-by-Step instruction manuals for this purpose. “Over recent weeks, we have further improved the compatibility of VPN Tracker with third-party devices from other manufacturers. The results speak for themselves: VPN Tracker for Mac OS X is the only product on the market that works together with an abundance of VPN devices“, said Matthias Spang, Manager of VPN Tracker Interoperability at equinux.

Moreover, Version 1.6 sports a completely revamped user authorization concept. As a result system administrators are now able to allow normal users to start and stop the VPN connection on their own, without administrative authentication.

VPN Tracker for Mac OS X is available in two versions, dependent on the type of implementation. A free 30-day-demo licence for both versions can be downloaded from the website.
