APC Tracker can either connect to APC UPSs with USB support, APC UPSs equipped with a network management card, or to Linux or Windows servers running APCUPSd.

APC Tracker works in conjunction with APC Network Management (aka Web/SNMP) Cards. APC Network Management Cards are extension cards for the "SmartSlot". Every SmartUPS series UPS features such a SmartSlot. The Network Management Cards provide standard based remote management of UPS via Ethernet. This way of connecting is recommended for all scenarios involving multiple computers that are attached to one UPS.
