Using APC Tracker
APC Tracker will keep you informed of the current status of your APC device.
To setup APC Tracker, both Mac OS X 10.2 or higher and the BSD subsystem from the Mac OS X installation are required.
The software connects to the APC Tracker Server and requires connection to the following network device/service to display the current status of the APC:
- An APC UPS with USB support
- An APC UPS with an APC Network Management Card built-in (SNMP Mode)
- An APC UPS connected to a LINUX PC running APCUPSd
The client/server architecture allows the link up to multiple APC Tracker Servers simultaneously to facilitate central management from different Macs within a local or remote network.
APC Tracker runs faceless in the background as a system service. It permanently monitors the APC UPS device, remembers its last status and initiates a shutdown whenever set criteria is met.
