Five steps to your perfect email design

Step 1: Choose your email template

Mail Designer offers design ideas for various topics. Just double-click a template and turn it into your own custom design. You can also start with a blank canvas.

If you already use Stationery Pack Business Edition templates, you can customize and edit any of these with Mail Designer as well.

  1. Layout elements 1-, 2-, 3-Column
  2. Graphics to spice things up
  3. Text-items (adjust the font,
    size, and color)
  4. Placeholders for your images
  5. Textured and colored backgrounds
  6. Access your saved images

Step 3: Add your own content

  1. Drop your personal photos or product images into the placeholders. If you know you'll want to replace an image regularly,  just add an image placeholder.

  2. Add your text to the defined fields - and choose one of the web-safe fonts offered by Mail Designer.

  3. Use the background patterns to add a bit of color to your design. The wide range of backgrounds offers everything from realistic leopard print to natural wood grain textures.

  4. If you place objects one on top of the other, all you need is a click to define which image belongs in front or behind - just click on the corresponding icon in the toolbar.

  5. Adjust the size of elements by dragging the bordering points. Specify the text, font, size, and color within the text object as you see fit.

  6. Are the images and text too close to each other? No worries. Click and drag the dividers in the layout block to add a bit more space.

Step 2: Customizing your template

Each Mail Design is infinitely flexible. Click on the the "content" area and there you will find the module layout elements that can be placed into any layout. You have the choice to opt for a single or multiple column layout as well as to decide whether or not to include a photo.

Rulers will help you to layout your design with pixel-precision. For example, you can choose a 2-column layout block for your text element.

Step 4: Save your Mail Design

Is your layout done? Then save it so you can use it again and again. Mail Designer saves every design under the heading “My Designs”. There you can further develop your message or your corporate design as your needs change. Your design will appear in Apple Mail as a Stationery Template.

Step 5: Send with Mail

Is your design ready? Just click the "Send" button, to automatically import your design into Apple Mail. Now you can add images to your image placeholders and compose your message. Enter an email address and away you go.
