Your Electronic Program Guide
The Tube provides an integrated Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that is always up-to-date. With its new plug-in based engine it is possible to easily built-in alternative tv listings and apply them to each channel.
Not only does The Tube display the currently running TV shows alongside each of your channels for easy browsing, it also gives you an overview of the TV schedule for the next days. The first time The Tube automatically tunes in all of the available TV channels it also looks up the available program information.
The Tube now automatically updates the available information in the electronic program guide twice a day and synchronices the data with TubeToGo.
The Tube can display more information about currently running or an upcoming show: Whether you're in the "Channels" or "EPG" view, you can select "Show Details" to view a short description of the selected program. The length of the description can vary, as it is published by the TV stations themselves. The Tube will display all available information, including show duration and genre.
If that is not enough, you can find out more about episodes and show with the integrated Google-search: just choose "Search with Google" or "Search with Google Images".
The Tube lists the TV program chronologically. In order to look for a particular show you only have to start typing in the name and The Tube immediately starts presenting the results - just like Spotlight. With every additional character you type, the results are filtered until you've found exactly the show you were looking for. To only view the program of one specific channel, you can simply click on the name of the channel (e.g. "Eurosport").
You can find program guides all over the internet. The open source project XMLTV aims to collect that information in different countries and make it available in the open XML-format XMLTV. equinux welcomes this approach and is pleased to support the open XMLTV format. The Tube is able to import XMLTV program guides and assign them to specific channels in your channel list.
