Frequently Asked Questions
Which sending method should I use for a small personalized campaign in Mail Designer?
For personalized campaigns, we generally recommend Mail Designer Direct Mail or the integrated Mail Designer sending features. These sending methods are designed for campaign workflows and provide a better foundation for management, personalization, and deliverability than a regular SMTP mailbox.
SMTP is technically possible, but should be treated more as a special-case option, for example if you specifically need to send through an existing email account. For campaigns, Direct Mail is usually the better and more future-proof choice.
For professional sending, an address on your own domain is usually the strongest option. The domain typically needs to be verified with DNS records. Once the domain is set up correctly, sending can be authenticated more reliably.
Public email addresses such as Gmail are less suitable for campaign sending because they cannot be authenticated for a sending service in the same way as your own domain. Before sending the final campaign, always test with the most important email clients and recipient types.
