TARMAC 1.2 released with new security module for safe roll-out

iPhones and iPads can now be integrated into your business network even more securely. We've released TARMAC 1.2, an update to our iOS provisioning solution, featuring an integrated Certificate Authority for TARMAC Enterprise Server. With this update your enterprise can smooth the process of distributing iPhones and iPads over the SCEP (Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol).

TARMAC Enterprise Server now offers a safer path through the entire provisioning process via the new security module. The TARMAC security module contains its own Certificate Authority (CA) Server. Your business is then able to benefit from SCEP, without the need for an additional CA server with SCEP add-on.

TARMAC allows the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to be set up over-the-air (OTA), without the need to manually synchronize with a computer. In addition, the TARMAC Enterprise Server can connect to your corporate network using the existing LDAP directory services and automatically creates personalized user profiles on-the-fly. TARMAC Enterprise Server is installed as middleware in the enterprise's network. TARMAC supports directory services in Active Directory, Open Directory, Open LDAP, and MySQL databases. Your users need only request their personalized user profile via the TARMAC interface and go through a simple step-by-step installation. Distributing user profiles requires no additional apps.
