tizi Flachmann is informing you that the device is charging.

In the box, you will find a micro USB cable for charging your tizi Flachman. The cable length is 12cm.

Use the supplied micro USB cable or another cable of the same type. Connect the Flachmann to a USB port on a computer or charge it using a USB plug such as the tizi Power, tizi Tankstelle, or tizi Tankstation.
This depends on the capacity of your smartphone battery. The tizi Flachmann has 4000mAh, d.h. Therefor an iPhone 5 can be fully charged 2 times. The newest phablets, such as the iPhone 6 Plus and Nexus 6 have batteries with a higher capacity and can be charged 1.5 times with the Flachmann.
When not in use, tizi Flachmann switches to a mode to save energy. To start charging again, just disconnect and reconnect the charging cable from tizi Flachmann.

A full recharge will take 4 to 5 hours.

During the charging process of your tizi Flachmann the LEDs will blink and turn to a constant glow when tizi Flachmann is fully charged.

While recharging tizi Flachmann, you can't charge your iPhone or other devices. tizi Flachmann needs all the power it can get.

Of course! However, not completely since the capacity of the the iPad’s battery is very high. For this case, we suggest using the tizi Kraftprotz.

The LEDs show you how fully charged your tizi Flachmann is. In order to save energy they will be turned off after 10 seconds. Your tizi Flachmann will continue to charge your device.

Your tizi Flachmann is full when the 4 LEDs at the bottom of the device (near the USB port) remain lit.

After connecting your charging cable with tizi Flachmann, four LEDs will show you the charging level for your tizi Flachmann.

The LEDs will turn off after 10 seconds. tizi Flachmann will continue to charge your device.

While recharging, the LEDs will blink to show you the charging progress of your tizi Flachmann.

As soon as your tizi Flachmann is fully charged all LEDs will glow constantly.

Normally, it’s fully charged and ready to go in 4 to 5 hours.

iPhones and iPads are *not* "dumb" batteries that get connected to a charger. Some people may believe this and there are various myths on the internet about this. Where does this theory come from? It might originate from charging standard AA or AAA household batteries. In this scenario, the charger is actively doing the charging and the battery is "dumb" and gets charged. Here, in the worst case scenario, the battery can be destroyed by charging it wrong. Apple and all modern smartphone manufacturers use active charging control mechanisms with in their devices. The iPhone/iPad or smartphone actively decides how much current to use and which energy gets requested from the charger. In no case will a tizi device "push" a certain amount of power into an iPhone/iPad or smartphone! How can a tizi charger always provide iPhone / iPads with maximum fast performance? The best way to imagine this is as follows: When plugged in, an iPhone / iPad uses a communication protocol to ask the power supply about the maximum power that can be drawn. Our tizi charging devices (Tankstelle, Tankstation, Turbolader, Kraftprotz, etc.) respond correctly and the iPhone / iPad starts to charge. Initially maybe with 500mA, then 1A, then with 2.4A etc. Depending on the model and the current charge level, but also on the battery temperature of the iPhone / iPad, the Apple charge controller decides actively and independently how much power should be drawn. Thanks to the above-mentioned exchange about the maximum power, the Apple charging controller can be sure that it will get this power at any time over the charging period. What do tizi chargers do better than "standard" or cheap power supplies? Power supplies can have errors or problems at different levels. Here are two classic examples:
  • With cheaper power adapters, the communication protocol is often missing, meaning the adapter and the iPhone / iPad are unable to communicate properly. If an iPhone / iPad gets a strange result from the power supply when the performance data is exchanged (e.g. the protocols of both devices do not understand each other), then an iPhone only charges with a maximum of 500mA, which is very very slow. In this case, the iPad will show the "Not charging" message. The iPhone / iPad does this in order to prevent the power supply from becoming overloaded.
  • Another problem is possible overload - leading to a fire hazard. For example, this could occur if the cheap power supply tells the iPhone / iPad that it is able to charge up to 2.4A. If an iPad then requests this current during the charging process, the power supply will become overloaded. In the best case, it will simply turn off. However, it could also overheat and catch fire.
tizi power supplies are specially tailored to Apple devices, "speak" correctly with the charging controllers installed by Apple and are always able to supply the battery of an iPhone / iPad with the requested current. This means, when using a tizi device, the battery of an iPhone / iPad is never overloaded or even broken.

tizi+ has a microSD card slot. We recommend the original equinux tizi+ storage. This allows you to store 8 hours (16GB) or even 16 hours (32GB) of recordings.

Yes, with the supplied SD card adapter you can use the tizi+ Storage card in the SD slot of your Mac. Your tizi+ Storage card will then appear in the Finder. This allows you to copy and archive your tizi+ recordings on your Mac. To play under Mac OS X Lion, the QuickTime Player is sufficient, as tizi+ saves its recordings in the MPEG standard.

tizi+ records directly in the format in which the broadcasts are transmitted. This avoids any loss of quality. The ".mpg" recordings can then also be viewed on PC or Mac.

You can choose to store live recordings on tizi+ or on your iPad or iPhone. Go to the recordings tab and under the tizi+ options you can choose your preferred default.

Scheduled recordings are always stored directly on your tizi+ storage.

We're sorry!

Unfortunately the tizi power plug is only available in EU standard and, because the UK uses your individual 3 pin system, we don't want to sell you guys something that you'll just need to buy an adapter for when it arrives.

Yes, if you have an Apple TV and an iOS device, you can watch your recordings or live TV with AirPlay Mirroring!

You will need a strong network connection to allow it to work smoothly. Connecting your Apple TV via an ethernet cable is usually best for this.

For tizi:
Set up tizi so that it's set to tizi@Home mode which you can find instructions on how to do here. Connect tizi to the same network that your Apple TV is connected to, choose your channel and turn on Mirroring over AirPlay.

So for example, once you've picked your channel on tizi.tv on your iPhone, double click the iPhone's home button, swipe twice on the row of apps to go left past the music controls and tap the AirPlay button.

With the SD card adapter, you can throw your tizi+ storage microSD straight into the SD card slot on your Mac or PC.

Do you know what else is great? The tizi+ storage adapter is included with every tizi+ storage purchase!

If your Mac doesn't have a built-in SD card reader you'll need to head over to your nearest electronics store and grab yourself a USB SD card reader.

No! Nothing, 0, zero, nill, null, zip, zilch ... This is one of the best things about tizi!

Because tizi uses Wi-Fi to broadcast its signal, your data plan is never touched when using your tizi. No 3G, no 4G, no extra cost.

If you can't seem to find any channels in the same place you used to find lots then it may be worth just resetting the app. To do this:

  • Please quit the app entirely by double clicking the home button, holding down on the tizi icon and pressing the red 'X' that appears.
  • Then go to the 'Settings' app on the iPad
  • Scroll down to tizi.tv > Reset App and Reset EPG > ON (both).
  • Then reset your tizi as well by poking a paperclip in the little hole on its side.
