You can immediately watch a sample selection of channels when you install the Live TV IPTV Stream app. With a Live TV package you can test all features for 7 days for free.
With the Live TV Fernsehen IP TV app, you will get an immediate discount for a period of one month with the purchase of the app. Then, you can freely decide whether you want to extend the app via subscription (same cost as Live TV IPTV Stream).
The sound continues in the background, so that you can read the mails briefly while listening to the news. When you return to the Live TV app, you can see the image again. If you do not want this: try tapping the pause button to pause before pressing the home button.

You can also permanently disable this option. To do this, select "Play in background" from "Settings".

1. Check in which app the purchase was made

Please check in the first step in which app and on which platform you purchased the package. You can find the name of the app on the purchase receipt. Alternatively, you can also check in which app you purchased it by looking in the App Store settings under:
App Store > Highlights > at the very bottom on "Apple ID: xxx" > Show Apple ID > Subscriptions
A package should be selected and active here.

2. Open app and transfer product status to TV Pro ID

Please open the app in which you purchased the package in the next step.
  • Please perform the following steps:
    • 1. Open app
    • 2. Open the store in the menu
    • 3. Log in with your TV Pro ID or if you do not have a TV Pro ID yet, create a new TV Pro ID (free)
    • 4. Tap "Restore Purchases"
    Now your package has been saved in your TV Pro ID

    3. Restore package on another device or in another app

    To transfer your package to your second device or to another version, please follow these steps:
    • Open the corresponding app on the target device
    • As described above, go to the Store settings and log in here with your TV Pro ID
    • Tap "Restore Purchases"
    • Now your package should also appear here
In the Live TV Player, you can turn subtitles on or off directly in the picture: Tap once on the picture to display the controls. Then tap the speech bubble symbol on the right to see all subtitle options: If you select a language here, you can then also choose many different styles for your subtitles. Live TV remembers whether you have turned the subtitles on or off for this channel. If subtitles are still displayed even though you have disabled them, check what is set in your iPad or iPhone system settings under Accessibility and there in "Subtitles & Closed Captions". If everything is also switched off here, it can help to briefly switch the switches on and off again.

TV stations determine the availability of their streams abroad. That is why we can not guarantee whether the corresponding station or show will be available abroad.

We installed a detector to help determine whether the show is available: a tablet next to the name of the program indicates this. Blue tablets mean that the stream is potentially receivable. Gray means that the stream is not receivable.

You can add your own streams in Live TV that are specified in an M3U file. This M3U file consists of a list of "m3u8" streams. You create this M3U file according to your wishes and then place it on your own web server. In the home network, a local web server is sufficient, as is often supplied with NAS drives. Then you add the M3U URL in Live TV. Done!

How does the mapping to the channels work?

The m3u file must use exactly the names for the stream names that Live TV uses. You can find the exact names of the channels in Live TV under "Settings" > "Channel Selection".

I have added a stream in my m3u file, but unfortunately it does not appear. Why?

You can only specify names in the M3U file that also exist in Live TV. All other names are currently ignored by the app and not displayed. In addition, you must ensure that your streams are in the "m3u8" format. Other formats are not supported (rtmp, etc.)

Where can I find my own streams in Live TV now?

Own streams are assigned to the existing channel names. Switch to the "Stream" tab, where the channel names will appear if you have assigned a stream.

Who is the manual addition of own stream sources suitable for?

For all those who are a little more familiar with the stream subject and for whom terms like M3U are not Chinese. For all those who use a TV receiver or television in the home network that can stream the TV program further in the local network (e.g. in higher resolution) and who want to receive this program with Live TV. We therefore do not provide technical support for this feature. We explicitly point out that this feature is intended for this personal use case.

Live TV shows stations where free and open web streams are available on the Internet. Transmitters such as Pro 7, Sat.1 and RTL do not provide such a stream. See also: {FQ1132}
The TV Pro editorial team determines the most relevant TV programs on a daily basis by using the Programmzeitschrift TV Pro or the TV Pro program guide and the viewing rate of our Streaming App Live TV. Every single day, our TIM algorithm searches these broadcasts across the entire TV channel in the German broadcaster Mediatheken, and the TV Pro editorial staff edits and curates these broadcasts, in order to present them clearly in an app: TV Pro Mediathek. Categorized by theme, updated hourly, with options such as download, browse, clips, and more.

From the theme collections of the TV Pro Mediathek, we also provide daily channels exclusively for the Live TV App. with 100% reportage. We propose a daily sequence of top channels in the form of a program schema. Here, our algorithm is able to select the top from the Mediatheken and high-quality media books at the main end time at 20:15.

There are two places in iOS to prohibit an app from using Mobile Data. 1. Turn off “Wi-Fi Assist”. This applies to all apps, not just TV Pro Mediathek. To turn it off: Homescreen > Settings > Cellular Then scroll all the way to the end and turn off “Wi-Fi Assist” there. 2. In addition, you can generally prohibit an app from using Mobile Data there.

"TV Pro Gold" applies to the "TV Pro" program guide apps for iPhone/iPad. There are separate in-app packages for the "Live TV" and "TV Pro Mediathek" apps, which can be purchased within the apps. "TV Pro Gold" does not unlock any features there.
If you do not want sorting by ratings, this can be deactivated via the header menu at the top left.

Yes, our apps are fully Airplay compatible. Live TV and TV Pro Mediathek also work excellently with Airplay 2. With Airplay you can wirelessly transmit picture and sound from your Mac, iPhone or iPad to an Apple TV or speakers. With Airplay 2 you can even connect your iOS device with many supported Smart TVs and stream Live TV or the TV Pro Mediathek on your Smart TV, for example. To do this, simply press the Airplay button in the corresponding app and select your desired television. Make sure that both devices are on the same Wi-Lan. In Live TV and TV Pro, the integration only serves to conveniently access Mediathek programs. This allows you to jump directly to the corresponding program in the TV Pro Mediathek App. You watch the program in the TV Pro Mediathek App and that is also where you find the overview by topic, the search, your favorites and downloads. If you delete the TV Pro Mediathek App, associated data such as downloads will also be deleted. Favorites are retained if you are logged in with your equinux ID. Tip: All three apps are cheaper together and available on all platforms if you opt for TV Pro Gold All-in-1.

Apple has made a change to the technical infrastructure for In-App Purchases and Subscriptions in recent days. To cope with this, the apps of the TV Pro App family need to be updated.

We have submitted corresponding updates to Apple and hope for a swift release by the AppStore team.

What to do?

The respective app updates should appear in the AppStore shortly. Once the update is installed, the problem will be solved automatically. You do not need to contact the support team.

Which products are affected?

  • Purchases and extensions since 08.02.2023 are affected
  • Products purchased in the TV Pro Online Store are not affected
  • Customers who previously secured their purchases in the TV Pro ID are also not affected
We apologize for the inconvenience and are doing our best to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

We are also annoyed by this. Watching television and channel surfing and then having to watch a 20-second preroll ad: that’s a no-go. That's why we don't use any preroll ads in the TV Pro Live TV App!
Below the image there is a drop-down menu. Here it is possible to switch to another stream or regional window of the respective channel. FAQ Image - S_1255.png On Apple TV, you can switch to this menu by swiping right and then down on the Apple Remote.

If an app is not behaving correctly, it can be restarted on an iPhone or iPad as follows:

On an iPhone / iPad with Face ID:

  • Go back to the Home Screen
  • Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and hold to show the App Switcher
  • Swipe up on the app you want to close to close it

On an iPhone / iPad with Home Button

  • Go back to the Home Screen
  • Press the Home button twice to show the App Switcher
  • Swipe up on the app you want to close to close it
After closing the app, you start the app as usual from your Home screen by tapping the app logo.
Is the email address for your TV Pro ID old or no longer available? You can transfer your active AppStore subscriptions to another TV Pro ID. Note: This will revoke your access with the "old" TV Pro ID, meaning you must log in everywhere with the new TV Pro ID afterwards. Here's how:
  • Create your new TV Pro ID
  • Log in to the app you used to purchase your package with your new TV Pro ID
  • Select "Restore Purchases"
  • Confirm that you want to transfer the package to the new TV Pro ID
Now you can use the package with your new TV Pro ID.
The Live TV channel list consists of public web streams from broadcasters and providers. We link to these contents. If a broadcaster or provider changes or stops the offer, the offer from Live TV may no longer be accessible and viewable. We therefore cannot guarantee availability. We actively maintain the content, often link information is changed or restructured and can be displayed again after adjustment.
Some (few) channels send a stream with subtitles in addition to the normal stream. To find these channels, simply enter the search term "Subtitles" in the search field at the beginning of the channel list. Tap or click on the corresponding channel. In the stream window, then select the corresponding stream of the channel. When purchasing the TV Pro GOLD ALL-IN-1 package, the following rule applies: always start with the app and on the device where you purchased the package. Then log in to other apps. For example, if you purchased the TV Pro GOLD ALL-IN-1 package in the TV Pro app on your iPad, then the starting point is the TV Pro app on your iPad:
‣ Create a TV Pro ID in the app and then select "Restore Purchases"
‣ Now open the other apps in the TV Pro GOLD ALL-IN-1 package and enter the same TV Pro ID there.
‣ Logging in with your TV Pro ID will automatically recognize the TV Pro GOLD ALL-IN-1 package.
If you have problems, please delete the app from all devices and start with the device where you initially purchased the TV Pro GOLD ALL-IN-1 package. Then follow the steps above.

Earlier, you necessarily had to have an Apple TV or a Mac to use the popular AirPlay function. But since AirPlay 2, the “screen mirroring” feature can also be used via many modern Smart TVs. If you used two different Apple IDs for your app download and subscription purchase, the App Store gets confused and displays a cryptic error message – "Renewal failed". The solution:
  • Delete the currently installed app
  • Sign in under Settings > iTunes & App Store with the Apple ID you used to make your subscription
  • Now reinstall the app from the App Store
  • In the app, in the Store, select the option "Restore Purchases"
No. With your purchase by bank transfer, you acquire Live TV products once for your chosen period. If you would like to continue using the apps with all benefits even after the period expires, you must purchase the corresponding product or package again.
Indeed, the AppStore on iPhone and iPad sometimes "hangs" and cannot update apps. In this case, deleting the app, then restarting the device and reinstalling the app helps. If, after purchasing a subscription in Live TV, few channels are still displayed, the purchase has been completed, but the evaluation of the purchase has failed. This is not a cause for concern. The following steps can resolve this issue:
  • Delete the Live TV app from the device. (Don't forget to empty the trash on Mac)
  • Open the AppStore and download the Live TV app again from the AppStore
Then start Live TV. All channels should now appear.
The tuning rate is determined in real time from all installed Live TV Apps and TV Pro Apps on all platforms. With the channel order sorted by rating in Live TV, you can quickly see when a channel is broadcasting a currently very popular program: it moves to the top as a top channel.

Assuming a program is running on Friday night at 0:05 AM. In the TV Pro Apps, however, this program appears in the listing on Thursday at 0:05 AM. Why is that? For the TV day, it is assumed that the TV day starts at 5 AM and lasts until 4:59 AM the next day. Two reasons: - If you look in the listing for what’s running on Thursday evening, say from 11 PM, you also want to see the programs that start at 0:05 AM. You "think" it’s still "Thursday evening". Therefore, programs after midnight are also counted as Thursday. - It is based on the "wake cycle", i.e. until you go to bed (hopefully before 5 AM!) programs are counted to the day you got up, i.e. are awake. A program at 2 AM is therefore still counted to the mentioned Thursday and not (calendarically correct) to Friday. Friday contains all programs until Saturday morning at 4:59 AM. From 5 AM the new TV day then starts.
If you can no longer log in to the TV Pro or Live TV app and do not receive an email to reset your password, the following may be the cause: No account with this email address - Password reset only works if an account actually exists with the entered email address. - Check if you may have registered with a different email address. Check old emails - Search your email inbox for previous emails from @equinux.com. - If you find such emails, your account was probably created with this email address. - Try logging in with this address or performing the password reset for this email address. If no emails are found - If you do not find any emails from @equinux.com, you probably have not yet created an account. - In this case, you can simply create a new account with your current email address.

I purchased a license – how do I get my access back?

If you have already made a purchase, but no account exists with your current email address, you can restore your purchases in the app: Create a new account - If you did not have an account before, create a new account in your TV Pro or Live TV app. Restore purchases - Open the app and navigate to the settings. - Select the “Restore Purchases” option. - Important: This must be done with the Apple ID with which you originally made the purchase. Use the correct app - Make sure you are using the correct version of the app. For example, if you made your purchase via the TV Pro Mediathek iOS app, you must use exactly this app to restore it. Check purchases in Apple ID - If you are unsure with which Apple ID you made the purchase, you can check this in the App Store under: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. - Alternatively, you can check under Purchases in the App Store which apps are linked to your Apple ID.

What to do if the restoration does not work?

If you continue to have problems: - Restart the app and try again. - Log out and log back in with your Apple ID in the App Store.

Wenn AirPlay in TV Pro oder Live TV nicht mehr wie gewohnt funktioniert, können folgende Schritte helfen, das Problem zu beheben:

  6. Neuverbindung herstellen: Beende die App komplett und starte sie neu. Versuche dann erneut, die AirPlay-Verbindung herzustellen.
  7. AirPlay-Einstellungen prüfen: Überprüfe die AirPlay- und Datenschutz-Einstellungen auf deinem Gerät und deinem Apple TV.
